(LIBERTY TOWNSHIP)--A group of parents showed up at the Lakota School Board meeting Monday, concerned about some of the lessons being taught to their children. One middle school parent says her 8th grader was given material in language arts class on LGBT issues, gender pronouns, Black Lives Matter, and claiming that Christians and parents are homophobic. Superintendent Matt Miller says he will meet with the parents about their concerns.
(MIDDLETOWN)--A tragic end to a missing person case in Middletown. The body of 72 year old Deborah Reily was found in the Great Miami River Monday, nearly two days after she was reported missing. She was listed as an endangered missing case because she suffered from dementia. Her body was found near the shore line off 9th Avenue and Maple Street.
(FAIRFIELD)--There's no word on the severity of injuries to the driver of a vehicle that hit a pole on the 3700 block of Mack Road in Fairfield Monday. The victim, in his early 20's, was flown to UC-Clifton by Air Care. Power was out to over a thousand Duke Energy customers in the neighborhood.
(COLUMBUS)--Governor DeWine has ordered vaccine clinics in the state to pause their use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine because of reports that six women have developed dangerous blood clots. One of the six women later died.
(CLEVELAND)--Cleveland businessman Mike Gibbons has thrown his hat in the ring to run for the GOP senatorial primary in 2022. He also ran in 2018, losing to Jim Rennaci, who's also considering a run for statewide office.
(West Chester)--Former 8th District Congressman and House Speaker John Boehner releases his new book today. The book entitled "On The House, A Washington Memoir" takes aim at fellow Republicans like former President Trump, Congressman Jim Jordan, and Senator Ted Cruz.
(Cincinnati)--It's costing you less at the pump as you begin the new work week. Gas Buddy says the average price of regular unleaded fell to $2.74 a gallon, six cents lower than last week. According to our Gas Buddy widget on WMOH.COM, the lowest prices are in the Bond Hill and Norwood areas, where it's $2.48 a gallon at the Thornton's at Reading and Tennessee, and the UDF at Dale Road & Carthage.
(West Chester)--ODOT begins work on a signalization project in West Chester Township that will require some lane restrictions. Single lane closures will take place on State Route 747 and Mulhauser as well as 747 and Port Union Road. There will also be shoulder restrictions. The work will continue through the end of the week.
(Hamilton)--The Butler County OVI Task Force says they will conduct a checkpoint on Saturday. The time and location will be announced the morning of the operation.
(ROSS TOWNSHIP)--Retired New England Patriot Wide Reciever and former Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman didn't always think he was going to have an NFL career. In fact, the Kent State grad once checked out the possibility of becoming a firefighter in Ross Township back in 2009. The department has the story on their Facebook page.
