(MONROE)--The Monroe School Board made it official Monday night, hiring a new superintendent, J. Robert Buskirk. The Lebanon man is currently serving as interim superintendent for Lebanon City Schools. Buskirk says he has spent the past 19 years as an administrator at Lebanon, working in every building in the district. He will succeed Kathy Demers, who is who is retiring and taking a position with the Buckeye Association of School Administrators in Columbus. Buskirk will begin his duties on August 1st, but he has also signed a 10 day consultant contract, which will allow him time to transition into his new role. Buskirk is a graduate of Miami University, where he received a Bachelor's and Master's degree.
