(Fairfield Township)--After two public hearings on the issue, Fairfield Township Trustees have voted to reject plans to increase the township's license tag fees by five dollars per year. If approved, the township would have received an extra $250,000 a year for repairs to the 81 miles of township streets, as well as for other township infrastructure. Attendees to the public hearings raised concerns over the timing of the request, how much work would be completed, and how streets are chosen to get on the repair list. Many who were on a fixed income say they just can't afford the new fees and taxes.
