Compressor Tank Blasts Into House

Hamilton police say a demolition crew has fessed up to causing the launch of an air compressor tank that crashed into a house more than 1,400 feet away. The bizzare accident happened Sunday afternoon, while a crew was working at the former Beckett Paper Mill along Martin Luther King Boulevard. Police Chief Rick Bucheit says a worker was cutting up scrap metal and cut into the steel tank. The tank was pressurized, and it "launched like a missile" over roof tops more than two blocks away before it bounced off the street and crashed into 110 North 7th Street. Luckily, the occupant was not in the room where the tank landed. The demolition site has been shut down by city and state officials until safety measures can be reviewed. The company has promised to fix the damage.

He is facing a felony charge of Breaking & Entering, and misdemeanor charges of Public Indecency and Assault. He was arrested at 7:30pm Sunday. He is set to appear in Area One Court in Oxford. Schaffer played high school football at LaSalle, and collegiate ball at the University of Cincinnati.
