Coleman Pleads Guilty

(Hamilton)---A Georgia man has pleaded guilty in connection with the shooting death of a Hamilton man back in March. 27 year old Phillip Coleman admitted to shooting 24 year old Deandrew Jackson in the head at Front and Peshing. Judge Charles Pater sentenced Coleman to 14 years in prison. The shooting triggered several retaliation incidents in the days following the killing.

Jones Supports HB 605

(Hamilton)---Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones is getting behind House Bill 605, which would prohibit state agencies from making a deal with the U.S. Government to house illigal immigrants. The bill, which was introduced by State Representative Wes Retherford, would also withold state funding to local governments and agencies that agree to house illegal immigrants.

Strike Talks Resume Today

(Hamilton)---Negotiations between striking Children Services workers and Butler County officials resume this afternoon for the first time since the strike began last Monday. The county recently accused the union of making false statements in the media, and sent the union a cease and desist order. County Administrator Charles Young says nine striking workers crossed the picket line Monday and returned to work.

Hamilton Police Solve Decade Old Rape Case

(Hamilton)---Hamilton Police say DNA evidence has helped solve a 10 year old rape case. 30 year old Roman Degante Junior pleaded guilty Monday to kidnapping and raping a 17 year old girl on North B Street in June of 2004. The rape went unsolved for several years until Degante was arrested in a 2013 burglary case. Degant's DNA was placed in a database that showed a match with the 2004 rape. Degante will be sentenced on October 13 by Judge Patricia Oney.
