Fairfield Native War Hero Remembered

(Fairfield)--A war hero is being remembered by his former classmates. 43 year old Staff Sgt. Christopher Federmann was a 1994 Fairfield High School graduate, and played football for the Indians, wearing number 44. He later enlisted in the Army, and ended up fighting with the Special Forces in Iraq. He was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart for actions on the battlefield. Staff Sergeant Federmann will be laid to rest with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery. He died at his Illinois home on September 11th.
 

Headlines For Friday September 6

(Monroe)--The Butler County OVI Task Force says a checkpoint will be held in Monroe tonight. Crews will set up in the northbound lanes of Cincinnati-Dayton Road at Todhunter Road. The checkpoint will be held between 7:00pm and 10:00pm.

 

(Lebanon)--Prosecution testimony continues in the aggravated murder trial of 20 year old Brooke Skylar Richardson in Warren County. The  Carlisle woman is accused of killing her newborn baby, and burying the remains in her back yard. She claims the child was stillborn.

 

(Hamilton)--The investigation continues into an apparent explosion and house fire Thursday at 864 Ross Avenuein Hamilton . The blaze was reported at 4:15am. First responders reported smoke coming from the two story frame home, and a partial collapse of a rear addition to the building.

 

(Hamilton)--The Butler County Incident Management Team has arrived home after spending the past several days in Florida, helping the Emergency Operations Center there gear up for Hurricane Dorian.  They were scheduled to spend 16 days in Florida, but the storm took a different path.

 

(Lockland)--A Hamilton County man faces the possibility of life in prison if convicted of raping and taking pornographic photos of a 5 year old boy. 25 year old William Bustillos the Third was indicted on multiple counts of rape and pandering obscenity.

 

(Cincinnati)-A second victim has died as the result of a lightning strike at Cincinnati's Spring Grove Cemetery last week.  55 year old Patricia Herlinger of Colerain Township died at University Hospital's ICU ward five days after she and two others were struck by lightning. 27 year old Danielle Brosius died of her injuries shortly after the incident during a thunderstorm on Friday.
