Four Injured In Madison School Shooting

Four teens were injured in a shooting Monday afternoon at Madison Jr/Sr High School. Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones says 14yo James Austin Hancock opened fire during the lunch hour inside the cafeteria, shooting 2 students, and causing injuries to two others. The wounded have been identified as 15yo Cameron Smith, 14yo Cooper Caffery, who were both Care Flighted to Miami Valley Hospital. They are expected to make a full recovery.
14yo Brant Murray, and 14yo Katherine Douchette received minor injuries during the melee, and were treated at an area hospital. Sheriff Jones says Hancock is facing juvenile charges of attempted murder (2 counts), felonious assault (2 counts), inducing panic, and making terroristic threats.

 

Report: Hamilton Man Cuts Off His Own Penis

Hamilton police are investigating a strange self-multilation case on Valentine's Day. A 69 year old man reportedly got into an argument with his family, and cut off his penis with a pair of scissors at a home on Elmont Avenue. The man also reportedly cut his abdomen, causing serious injuries. The man was flown to Miami Valley Hospital by Care Flight. The incident happened just after 1:00pm Sunday

Snow Emergency Declared

Butler County was under a Level One Snow Emergency Sunday as a winter storm dumped 2 to 3 inches of snowfall on Butler County. Numerous accidents were reported as vehicles lost control on the slick streets. Snow Emergencies were also declared in the cities of Oxford, where residents are required to move cars from designated streets, and Monroe, where all cars had to be moved from the streets to make way for plow trucks.

Police Search For Gun Thief

West Chester police are looking for a man who stole firearms from the Cabela's store in late December. Police say the suspect, a white male appearing to be in his 20's, entered the store and walked out with a firearm on three separate occasions. The thefts took place on December 28, 29, and 30th. Hamilton Fire Under Investigation

Hamilton firefighters were investigating the cause of a structure fire on the city's east side. The flames broke out around 9:18pm Sunday night at 1219 Edison Avenue. Extra help had to be called in from Liberty and Fairfield Townships. Early reports say the fire started in the basement area.

Hundreds Pay Respects To Holzberger

Funeral Services were being held Monday for former Butler County Sheriff Richard Holzberger, who died following a massive stroke last week. Hundreds of people waited in line for over an hour Sunday evening to pay their respects to Holzberger, as pictures from his past flashed on the big screens at the Princeton Pike Church of God. Holzberger wore his sheriff's uniform, his casket surrounded by honor guard officers from Hamilton Police and the Sheriff's Office. The funeral was being held at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church in Downtown Hamilton, where Holzberger was a parishioner.
