Walmart is planning a more than $300 million investment in a new fulfillment center in Turtlecreek Township that is expected to create more than 300 jobs. REDI Cincinnati and JobsOhio announced the project Monday following Walmart’s purchase of nearly 100 acres in Warren County. The facility will be located at 760 Encore Drive and will specialize in larger, non-sortable merchandise such as televisions, furniture and other oversized items. The new center will expand Walmart’s fulfillment capacity in the region and place more inventory closer to customers, helping the company expand its next-day delivery network. “Greater Cincinnati has been an important part of Walmart’s operations for years, and this investment represents the next chapter in our commitment to the region,” said Karisa Sprague, Walmart’s senior vice president of Fulfillment Operations. “This new facility will complement our existing network, create hundreds of new jobs in Warren County and help us serve customers even faster by bringing more products closer to where they live.” The Turtlecreek Township facility will complement Walmart’s existing fulfillment operation at 650 Gateway Boulevard in Monroe. That facility employs more than 200 associates and will continue operating. Together, the two facilities will expand Walmart’s fulfillment operations in the region and create additional jobs in Warren County. “Warren County has established itself as a premier location for distribution and logistics, and Walmart’s investments in Monroe and Turtlecreek Township reinforce the strength of the I-75 corridor,” said Kimm Lauterbach, president and CEO of REDI Cincinnati. Turtlecreek Township Trustee Jonathan D. Sams said the project will bring new jobs and strengthen the local economy. “We’re proud to welcome Walmart to Encore Park and Turtlecreek Township,” Sams said. Warren County Commissioner Dave Young credited cooperation among the township, county, state, REDI Cincinnati and Core5 Industrial Partners for helping bring the project to Warren County. Walmart said it has nearly 60,000 associates and more than 175 stores, clubs and supply chain facilities across Ohio. The announcement adds another major logistics project to the growing I-75 corridor in Warren County.
