Troopers say the crash happened around 5:19 a.m. on northbound I-75 near mile marker 31 in Monroe in Warren County. According to the preliminary investigation, a 2023 Kenworth semi driven by 44-year-old Barbaros Yilmaz of Chatham, New Jersey struck a pedestrian who was walking in the roadway. Investigators say the pedestrian, identified as 74-year-old Norma Jean Howard of Carlisle, was then struck by a 2013 Ford Fusion driven by 57-year-old Freddy Perdoma Sanchez of Middletown. Howard was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews. The patrol was assisted by the Warren County Sheriff's Office, Turtlecreek Township Fire and EMS, Barrett’s Towing, and the Warren County Coroner's Office. The crash remains under investigation.
