Butler County's unemployment rate took a big jump in January. The county's jobless rate was 5%, up from 3.9% in December. According to the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services, there were 8,600 less employed workers between December and January, and 1,900 names were added to the unemployment rolls. The statewide unemployment rate was 4.6% in January, up from 3.9% in December.
