DeWine Chooses Husted
Governor Mike DeWine has chosen his Lieutenant Governor to become Ohio's next U.S. Senator. During a news conference Friday, DeWine announced that Jon Husted will take over the seat left vacant by the resignation of J.D. Vance, who becomes the nation's 50th vice president on Monday. DeWine says he wanted to choose someone who understood the seriousness of the job, and would be able to run for the seat in a spacial election in 2026, and again in 2028 for the full term. St. Xavier grad Vivek Ramaswamy was also lobbying for the job. He is reportedly considering a run for governor in 2026.
