The National Weather Service has released more information about Monday's tornado that hit parts of Wayne and Madison Townships. A survey team from Wilmington determined it was an EF-1 tornado that damaged about a dozen properties along Elk Creek, West Alexandria, and Dickey Roads. It first touched down in the heart of Jacksonburg at 2:37pm, and traveled 4.2 miles before dissipating 6 minutes later. The path of the storm was 150 yards wide. No injuries were reported.
