A fire in a rooftop HVAC unit cost the Fairfield Applebee's their lunchtime crowd Friday, but the restauraunt was able to re-open in time for dinner. Fairfield Fire Chief Don Bennett tells WMOH News the fire was contained to the mounted unit, but there was smoke inside the restaurant. Bennett says Applebee's had to close until they were given clearance from the Butler County Health Department. The agency gave the go ahead to re-open later in the afternoon. No injuries were reported, and there was no structural damage to the restaurant.
