Monroe police and Ohio BCI are investigating a deadly police involved shooting Friday night.
Police say they were conducting as traffic stop at New Garver Road and Lebanon Street when a male passenger exited the vehicle, refused to comply with commands, and pulled a handgun from his waistband. Officers shot the man, who was taken to Atrium Medical Center and later died of his injuries. The officers involved have been placed on paid administrative leave. The Butler County Prosecutor's Office will launch a grand jury investigation, which is standard policy for all police involved shootings.
