ELECTION DAY 2021

Today is Election Day in Butler County. The polls opened at 6:30am, and close at 7:30pm. Some of the big races are for school board in the Lakota and Edgewood school districts, where 8 candidates are running for three open seats. Talawanda has five people running for two seats on the school board. The Hamilton City Council race has two incumbents, Timothy Naab and Michael Ryan running for three seats. The others are Badin Assistant Football Coach William Joel Lauer, Danny Ivers, and Kristina Latta-Landefeld. Fairfield has a mayor’s race between Debbie Pennington and Mitch Rhodus. In Middletown, Vice Mayor Joe Mulligan and former Police Chief Rodney Muterspaw are among five candidates running for two seats on city council. As far as issues go, Butler County Metroparks has a point-7 mill replacement levy on the ballot. Fire renewal levies are on the ballot in College Corner, as well as Hanover and Ross Townships. A five mill police levy is on the ballot in New Miami, and in Monroe, voters are deciding a charter amendment which would change the process of selecting a mayor and vice mayor.
