Fairfield City Council has approved a tax incentive and utility improvement agreement with Koch Foods which will result in a $140 million expansion of their facility on Port Union Road. The company is planning to build a second manufacturing plant on over 18 acres behind the current facility. Koch is already Fairfield's largest industrial employer, with 1,190 full time workers currently at the site. The expansion will initially add another 400 jobs, with 200 more possibly in the future.

The city will give the company a 10-year, 75% property tax incentive on the expansion. The agreement also calls for the company to compensate the Fairfield City School District 30% and Butler Tech .5% of the tax abatement each year of the abatement.
