Hamilton City Council took an historic vote for the Lindenwald area last night, approving a deal with developers Bloomfield/Schoen, who are planning to turn the old Benninghoffen Mill on Pleasant Avenue into a 20 million dollar mixed use development featuring apartments and retail venues much like the Marcum downtown. Under the plan, the city will buy the old factory for $650,000, making it eligible for historic tax credits. The city will then turn the property over to the developers, along with a $695,000 dollar grant and a 15 year tax abatement. Bloomfield/Schon has developed several projects in the area, most noteably the Peters Cartridge Plant Site in Warren County.
