(Hamilton)---Hamilton police are teaming up with Norfolk Southern to crack down on trespassing on the railroad tracks that run through the city, especially the downtown area. Last year, 276 people recieved warnings, and 19 people were arrested for trespassing on the tracks between Bobmeyer Road and High Street. Police and railroad officials plan to speak with residents and business owners near the tracks, to warn them about the trespassing laws.
  • In 2018, Ohio ranked 7th nationwide in trespasser casualties, with 20 fatalities and 15 injuries; 14 fatalities occurred on NS tracks. Through February of 2019, four people in Ohio have been struck by trains, two of them fatally.
