Amazon Coming To Monroe, Bringing A Thousand Jobs

The State of Ohio Tax Credit Authority has approved plans for a new Amazon fulfillment center at the Park North industrial complex in Monroe. The project is expected to create 1,000 full-time jobs with an annual payroll of $26.7 million. The company was awarded a 1.391% tax credit over 10 years to come to Warren County.
As part of the agreement, Amazon must maintain operations at the facility for at least 13 years. Amazon expects to be at full employment at Monroe by December 31, 2020. The company has promised to hire over 100,000 workers, and build fulfillment centers across the country as they take aim at brick and mortar stores. Amazon already has warehouses in Hebron, Kentucky near the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, as well as the Columbus area. Four days ago, the company also announced plans to build an 855,000 square foot facility which would employ 2,000 workers in North Randall, Ohio near Cleveland, which was also approved by the tax board this morning.
