Rains Cause Major Flooding

(Hamilton)---The cleanup is underway in Butler County, where a round of thunderstorms dropped four and a half inches of rain on the area. Hamilton firefighters had to rescue a female who was trapped in her car surrounded by flood waters on Tabor Lane near Cleveland Avenue. Several homes were also flooded on Joshua Court, which is off Cleveland. In Seven Mile, at least five families had to be assisted by the Red Cross after floods damaged their homes on Ritter Street. U.S. 127 was shut down between New Miami and Seven Mile after Seven Mile Creek came out of its banks. Fear Not Mills Road was also closed between Route 127 and Mellwood Drive, as Norfolk Southern repaired damage from washed out rails. In Madison Township, more than a dozen people had to be led to safety from the Weatherwax Golf Course and Sebald Park.
