(West Chester)---A man is being held at the Butler County jail after allegedly attacking a police officer in West Chester. Police say Damien Anderson was trying to cash a phony check at the Fifth Third branch located inside the Kingsgate Kroger on Tylersville Road. Anderson got into a tussle with police officer Matthew Young, which resulted in Young suffering injuries. A citizen assisted the officer, and Anderson was taken into custody. He is charged with assault, resisting arrest, and forgery.
