(Hamilton)---An iconic symbol of Hamilton's industrial past will be taken down on Friday. The city announced that the old Champion Paper Mill smokestack on North B Street will be imploded at 9:00am on Friday morning. The immediate area around the smokestack will be closed to all pedestrian and vehicular traffic. B Street will be closed between Wayne Avenue and the Black Street Bridge. A viewing area will be set up at River's Edge Amphitheatre. Free Parking will be available at the McDulin Garage downtown. Please do not park at the Courtyard by Marriott.
