(Hamilton)--Firefighters from three jurisdictions were battling a house fire at 489 Beeler Boulevard on the west side of Hamilton Friday afternoon. Smoke could be seen for miles and the upper floor of the house appeared to be gutted. The cause remains under investigation by Hamilton firefighters. A family member tells WMOH everyone was able to escape, including the family dogs. Crews from Hamilton, Fairfield, and Ross Township were on the scene.

Former Hamilton School administrator and school board candidate Chris Mate criticized board members for keeping the investigative report into allegations against former Superintendent Tony Orr secret. He says it conflicts with promises of transparency during the campaign. Orr resigned amid allegations of misconduct.
