Oxford police say they cited 26 people for underaged drinking during Green Beer Day in Thursday. Police also arrested 5 people for disorderly conduct, and one person for having a fake ID. Police Chief John A. Jones (pictured) says 17 noise level citations were issued, 6 people were nabbed for littering, and one person was arrested for criminal trespass. The State Patrol is also out with stats from yesterday's OVI checkpoint in Oxford. Troopers say only one OVI arrest was made with nearly 700 vehicles checked out at North Main & Church Streets. Four more were arrested for OVI during nearby saturation patrols. At least one female was injured when she was hit by a vehicle around 6:45am at South Main & Spring Street near the uptown area. Several squad runs were also reported for sick or intoxicated individuals.
