The City of Hamilton is remembering a longtime philanthropist who passed away Sunday. Ralph "Pat" Carruthers' name is synonymous with giving back to the community. He and his late wife Donna gave millions to a number of charities and causes, including Fort Hamilton Hospital, the Fitton Center for the Creative Arts, Miami University, the Hamilton School District, and scholarships for the Hamilton Community Foundation. Carruthers was recently honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hamilton City Character Foundation. Carruther's daughter Sara says he passed away Sunday around 9:45am. He was 88.
